Student allegedly assaulted by security guard and van driver: Protests erupt at PGC Campus
In a shocking incident of assault by the security guard and a van driver, it is learnt that in the break a student got accidentally locked in the basement of PGC Campus 10. Sources have revealed that a security guard Aun, along with a van driver, allegedly beat up the student in the basement. According to reports, a male teacher overheard her cries and found her in a rather dejected state. He immediately called for help. These two, the security guard and the van driver, after committing the crime, ran away from the area, leaving her in such a woeful state.
This triggered public outcry of students and members of the community, and protest activities sprouted in several PGC campuses, including Campus 10 and Campus 16, calling for justice for the victim. The situation soon flared up to violent clashes among the students and the security personnel. Several students were injured, and one was sent to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
This has led to the college administration coming under fire for attempting to cover up the incident in order not to tarnish the image of this institution, further fueling protests and mistrust in the ongoing process of investigation.
